Our sustainability promise

Materials

The textiles chosen for our products are not only carefully selected for their durability, safety and functionality, but also for their minimal impact on the environment. From selection to design, we make sure to choose a local supplier for our fabrics who innovates in printing by using eco-friendly as well as organic products.

Our EspaceMini fabrics are made of certified organic cotton and or organic hemp. In addition, our sewing thread is made of natural cotton. Organic cotton is a textile that can be composted, because it is produced from natural materials without any chemicals. In addition, organic cotton consumes up to 50% less water than conventional cotton. Our textiles are of high quality and certified OEKO-TEX, GOTS and BLUESIGN (see description below).

Packaging and delivery

Regarding our packaging, EspaceMini takes to heart the method of delivery of our products to your cocoon. To limit our carbon footprint, we order our printed fabrics in large quantities to limit travel by mail and less frequently. This is why our designs are sometimes limited. Also, when it comes to packaging, we eliminate unnecessary packaging from the product; we use no plastics or paper that cannot be recycled. Our packaging is made of recycled paper and printed directly from our workshop to limit waste. We also package your orders in 100% eco-friendly packaging that is biodegradable and made by a Canadian company.

What is OEKO-TEX certification?

"An OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 fabric has been checked at every stage of processing: raw materials, yarns, dyes. It does not contain chemicals that are harmful to health."

What is GOTS certification?

"GOTS guarantees the organic nature of the textile from the harvesting of raw materials and their environmentally and socially responsible processing to their labeling, in order to provide credible evidence to consumers. The standard covers the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, marketing and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70 percent certified organic natural fibers."

What is an organic fabric?

An organic fabric is also free of chemicals, but it has the added feature of being made from environmentally friendly fibers. (The cultivation of these fibers is certified pesticide-free).

What is the BLUESIGN certification?

"BLUESIGN traces the path of each textile throughout the manufacturing process, making improvements at every stage, from the factory to the finished product. BLUESIGN acts as an independent verifier to ensure trust and transparency. Corresponding to this approach, BLUESIGN encourages the industry to increase their efforts in sustainable processes step by step."

"Because the health of your minis is also our responsibility as a company!"

About the company's waste

What happens to our scraps and damaged fabrics? We try to keep our environmental footprint to a minimum. When we have fabric that is either stained, misprinted or even leftover, we use it to create other products, such as banners and hair bands. Out of 100 drawings made, we only have a small handful of waste that goes straight to the compost bin!

To take it a step further, we also offer original ideas for reusing your end-of-life washable felt-tip pens.
